Opening Weekend Action
A huge weekend of celebrations were had at Dinner Plain & Mount Hotham over Queen's Birthday weekend.

The Hon. Tim Holding, MP, Minister for Tourism and Major Events, announced the 2008 Victorian ski season open atop Heavenly Valley (the site of Hotham’s brand new $3.3 million snowmaking expansion) on Saturday 7 June and continued the celebrations at Hotham's Opening Ball at the White Room in the evening.

Cold temperatures made it possible for snowmaking, much to the delight of many families who made the trip to Hotham. Over 1,200 cubic metres of snow (approximately 120 truckloads) was produced in the Village Chair and Big D areas during the early hours of Saturday morning, providing plent of fun in the form of snowballs, snowplay and tobogganing.

The Celebrations continued at Dinner Plain's 'Boots & Black Tie' Ball on Sunday 8th June. Lisa Edwards and Michael Christianson entertained the crowd and Leo Sayer made a special appearance. Thanks to the generous support of donations and auction purchasers over $6,700 was raised for the Dinner Plain Recreation Fund.

Check out some of the fun below.
